Redesign for a New York couple to a more minimalistic aesthetic will allow a more open plan and significantly improved efficiency. The historic front will remain as is on the exterior while a new stair set off to the side will open the ground floor to a loft-like combination of Kitchen, Dining and Living. The second floor will be raised within the existing structure to increase the ground floor ceiling height and exterior decks will be simplified.
