Gray Head

Resting on a dramatic mesa, this contemporary home embraces panoramic views overlooking the Wilson Peaks, Illium Valley, Telluride and Mountain Village and the surrounding San Sophia Range to the north. Simple shed roofs open up an intimate scale entry to the expansive surrounding vistas. Low maintenance sustainable materials include rusted metal, local stone, recycled weathered oak siding and bonderized metal roofing. The open floor plan creates a loft-like atmosphere open to the southern views while maintaining a warm and informal atmosphere. Multiple design studies were done to fully understand the stepping site and views.
