Telluride Science Research Center

TSRC was ready to graduate from renting space in the local middle school during its summer sessions to having a year-round facility of its own in downtown Telluride. The programmed area of 35,000 s.f. for 1,000 scientists required approximately half a city block, a rare commodity in this historic mountain town. ECA worked with the Director to develop the building program and provided multiple site feasibility studies to determine the optimum locations for a future net-positive science center. ECA assisted in negotiations with the Town of Telluride to get approval for a long term lease of a core property to build the facility. Part of this study included a shared parking facility for the Block X hotel development across the street.
